Hello my fellow Benzo buddies!

I have a 2006 CLS that is fitted with the command NTG1 navigation system and because it’s 17 years old I decided I want to update the map software.

I bought the latest available version for it which for my car is the 2019 software, but my question is how do I install it? The disc didn’t come with any installation instructions so I’m not 100% sure what I have to do?

If anyone can guide me on how to install it, I’d be extremely grateful.

Have a read of this before you attempt to update the map.

I trust you haven't bought a cheapo copy from ebay which may brick your Comand unit if you are unlucky.
You may have to download some firmware before the Comand recognises the new map.
Comand Online can assist with firmware updates.

You have no faith my friend, I never NEVER buy anything cheap when it comes to my cars! I treat them better than I do myself! I bought it from sat navi shop which I’ve only heard good things about?

Make sure they are original DVDs and not copies - that's where the issues are. They should be silver not blue, gold, purple etc.

No I know I can’t connect my phone, but thankfully locally to me is Braybrooks who are the ultimate rectrofit audio Mercedes specialist and I’ve got it booked in with them for some nice little upgrades
