Hi,

E class W210 1998. When I look at the front side lights I notice 1 side brighter than the other, do I have two bulbs for each side and 1 is out?

Anyone know?

Cheers,

Only by inter changing them, or by fitting a matched pair will give an answer.

Only 1 each side for side on my 210. Check the bulbs, the bulb sockets and the wiring.

They can possibly dim with age, or could be a loose/bad connection. I'd try two new ones with a squirt of WD40 or similar (switch cleaner) into the bulbholder for good measure, as blobcat says

WD40 is not a switch cleaner, and should not be used, plus if it was a contact problem, the lamp would fluctuate with temperture changes, sorry to be difficult on this, but is is a fact.

Could be the glass envelope part of the bulb they sometimes discolour going either dark grey or a murky yellow. for what they cost I'd buy and fit two new bulbs if theres still a disparity you know you've a problem on the dim side likely as not a bad earth :???:

One more bit of useless info is that with side / tail lamp bulbs, there is no beam pattern to them and two different manufactures can make lamps say 21 w but can appear to have a different light intensity at different angles.
