Side panel trim

Silly question, but the side chrome trim on my 1985 mercedes 280te is coming off. I live in Jamaica and haven't the first clue where to find the plugs that hold the trim to the body of the car. On top of which, I don't know the correct name for it, so am having a hard time finding it on the internet. Any advise to what this is called or where to find it. I'm a girl, so maybe that will explain my ignorance to car parts.

do you mean the chrome thin strips on the body?
the clips that hold the chrome strip to the door are listed as part number 124 988 04 78 and are called clips...

theres a few clips that do this on your car - photo?

Now that's what you call efficient. Yes, it's the thin chrome strips on the body. I will try and do a search for that part number on the internet to see if we are talking about the same thing. If not I will take a picture in the morning and post it. Thanks a million

Chrome Strips

That's a brilliant idea, I'll check the price of airline tickets. I only need three clips, my problem now is that I don't know how to get the old ones out - bit of a tricky operation.
