Is it on the outside or inside, lighter fuel will remove most things safely

Hi,
I,d try paint thinners as long as your careful not to get any on the paintwork.

Check your insurance policy on window excess and then try a housebrick...........kidding, honest

You are a bolder man than me David, actually a little sharp stone would do, well thats what the kids use

It may be fairly simple to remove the glass before you try to clean it, you can on 201s and 124s. There are all sorts of solvent type chemicals out there lighter fuel, paint thinners etc, my favorite for sticky stuff is label remover from a stationary supplier. If its realy nasty hard adhesive from that there tint stuff a new stanley knife blade can be used to scrape it away and fine grade metal polish may help with the tiny bits but be carefull not to scratch the glass.

If you want to break the glass as suggested,
They sell "safety hammers" in my local pound shop (a small toffee hammer sized thing with a carbide pointed end) that you can keep in your car and break the glass to let yourself out with if you turn turtle, only trouble is only the kids buy them, every friday I think and kill the local bus shelters before having a go at the locals cars.
If you cant find one a small piece of spark plug insulator thrown at the glass will shatter it.

.......and you'll be finding little pieces of glass for ever and a day. If your gonna smash the glass, make sure you masking tape the inside of the glass first, glass in the arse should be avoided unless of course your a masochist - like some of the idiots my brother and sister-in-law treat in Cambridge hospital !?!?!
