Never mind the handling, it had an excellent handbrake to hold it on that hill.

It did actually, they were great for handbrake turns and getting away from the Rozzers ;)

then up graded to Hunters :cool:
My late Dad had a Hillman Hunter, great car, he gave me some driving lessons in it, then he sold it and got a 2ltr Mk11 Granada, had some lessons in that too, but quite gutless really, small engine pulling a big heavy body, ( and no, that was not my Dad either! Ha!)

A neighbour where i used to live as a lad had something like a hunter, but was called Sceptre ( i think) lots of wood inside, twin carbs etc etc.
It was a really nice car. I remember changing the cam shaft and followers because he hated the tapping noise. All came out via the front if i remember correctly. He had it totally resprayed as well. It looked like a new car. Poor old fella then had a heart attack and could not drive.
