Hi Guys,
Lazy question this:
My single wiper on the E220 Coupe (124) is easily raised to about 45 degrees, then gets stiff. As the mechanism is the complex wavy wipe version, I don't want to put too much force in lifting it further. As I'll need to pull it up to 90 degrees to swap the blade, is there a release mechanism, or does it need more WD40?
George.

George,

Mine only goes to the same point but I've not had any problems changing the wiper.

Lift the wiper arm to its 45 degree position then press the locking catch downwards and the wiper blade will slide out.

124 Wiper same as 129

I know the feeling that it is going to break, I have the same wiper on my SL (a lot of parts for the SL129 came from124) Coax it bit by bit hold the arm quite low down, on the third day it click forward and locked, Spray a little oil when it is forward to the hinge part.
