Hi all,

I bought a 1995 C200 recently. It has a black keyfob with a single button and the flip out key.

The siren had been disconnected by the previous owner as the car had been sitting in a garage with the battery removed for a while.

When the battery was connected up again we tried reconnecting the siren - but it just activates immediately. I've tried locking/unlocking the car ane even starting the engine, but the siren just keeps wailing.

It was working ok before the battery had been removed.

The siren is fitted just in front of the fuse box and has a 4 pin socket. I can't see any writing on it for a model number though.

Any ideas if this needs to be reset in some way or what the fault could be?

Thanks!

My w202 was supplied with two remotes, the one you have and a seperate one for the scorpion alarm.
The Merc one only set and reset the immobiliser.
The Scorpion did both the alarm and immobiliser.
Also had a key to actually turn the alarm on and off, which fitted a keyhole in the drivers footwell.
Pretty sure all the alarms were fitted by the dealers at that time so may be different depending on the dealer.
