Have been cleaning and generally and doing a few odds and ends on the SL today before putting the lid back on and noticed that the heating element in the rear screen is blown in two places . I've never used the heated screen in the time I've had the car and just tested it today and its defineatly not working (yes the fly lead was connected) .
So need some advice from any of you bodyshop boffins out there or anybody thats had experience of replacing this glass.
1, Is it worth bothering with (I do like to have things working as they should)
2, Is it an expensive replacement (cant seem to find any info on it)
3, Is it better to replace the glass off the car or on it
4, I'm having a little bit off corrosion on the roof rectified and having the roof
repainted completely as its only a small area and also the weather seals
replaced
5, Is it easier and more convenient to repaint the roof minus the glass or with
the new glass installed.
