Hi, I have the above with 135k on the clock and manual gearbox.
Since I bought it just before our summer, (well that's what they called it), it has had an annoying flat spot up to 2000k when it feels as if it's dropped a cylinder .
The previous owner had done all the obvious remides, new plugs, cap and leads but by his own admission there was still 'bit of a stutter'.
I suspect that the vacumn advance may not be working as it should because once the revs rise above 2000 the engine wakes up and accelerates smoothly.
This to me sugests that once the dizzy is spinning the advance weights start to do their job.
Here I am assuming that Merc dizey's work the same as other sports cars I have owned.
I bought this car for the reason that it is a manual and I wanted to get away from the cruise image and enjoy using the cars engine to the full.
Anyone got any thoughts on this annoying problem???
Best regards Martyn.
