SL 320 auto

hi guys & gals
just got myself a nice 10 year old SL 320 1998 with only 50,000k with full history,
just having abit of a problem with the BAS/ASR light on dash board, it doesnt come on till approx 3-7 miles but stays on, i was wondering if this had anything to do with the 19" alloys i have just put on ?
all help would be welcome as im new to mercedes !

Hello and welcome, 2 things come to mind if the battery has a low voltage, thats running voltage that could put it on, or one of the speed sensors needs cleaning or replacement.

You could go to an Indie and get the fault code read out.

Is the car the 129063 or 4

thankyou so much for the reply,
i think i may of solved the problem, i was reading the manual & they said if abs hasn t been applied for a while make them cut in,
hense i did & the light has gone !!
its a wierd thing but it seems to have worked,
sorry for being abit thick but what is 129063 or 4 ?
its my 1st merc SL that i have owned,
it is a very original one & ****** gorgeous to drive, looks awesome with the new rims on )
