Every time I drive my '98 320SL, the Engine seems to "Die" then with a decent prod of the Loud pedal , it kicks down clears it's throat and resumes normal Service ! Also sometimes it idles erratically at the lights. The car has covered 80k with full MB Service. Any Ideas ?
Thx in advance

It could be dry joints in the OVR in the boot, its the orange one with the fuse on top, on the right hand side. it can be tested with a volt meter, pin 30 is the input with 12v, the outputs are pins 87 if by tapping the relay the voltage fluctuates down to 7.5v then its faulty. You could put the car into idle, and tap the relay, if it goes rough or lumpy, that's it. Other than that it could be the fuel pump/relay/filter.

The OVP is the over voltage protection relay, it supplies the 12 to the delicate components and ECU's
