sl 320 Flat battery Help needed please

hi all
My 1997 sl320 has a flat battery which is unfortunatly situated in the boot which I am unable to open , no electrics , and the keys don't seem to work in the usual manner , any idears on how to open the boot or on charging the battery , any help would be much appreciated .

Have you tried the key? It should work manually.

yes I had tried the key but not in the correct manner ! helps if you turn the key before pressing . Problem sloved thanks again

unable to open boot with key, I am able to open drivers door manually and gain access to the car ,engine compartment etc,Is there a wy of opening booso i can charge battery,or power up the pump for the central
locking any help appreciated have tried using key correctly turning before pushing in

Do spray some wd40 into the lock and keep wriggling the key and it should open

Putting a battery charger on the thick starter motor terminal would enable the remote to work after a few mins

hi,tried charging via starter this worked fine however i still cannot get into boot,sprayed with wd40 jiggled the lock all ways still can't get in .Is there a way in or does it have to be drilled out or something? thanks for any help

If the boot was working then it should still from the remote and the battery now charged

hi,seems like it has developed this fault since not sure if it was opening before
when i push the lock ther seems to be no resistance mike

The boot has a 3 way lock, fully CW its locked at all times, CCW it will open the boot, upright in the middle it locks with the remote

hi,thanks for reply i have tried to open it in all positions,my good friend has been told that there is a vacuum connection under the drivers seat,i am just going to check will let you know outcome unless you already know thanks mike
