Hi,

I went through the same process in March this Year. My local dealer told me that they purchased the stands from an after market supplier and hadn't ordered one since the R129 was discontinued. They gave me the number of their supplier but it was very expensive.

In the end i purchased the stand from One Design Stands - Tel: 01780 765140 for £123 including delivery. This was the cheapest i could find.

They told me that is wasn't suitable for a Panaramic roof which i have, because of the extra weight on the wheels. They were just covering their own backs as the wheels if pushed with some force against an uneven rough concrete surface etc, may damage. I didn't have a problem and the wheels are standard and avaliable from B & Q etc.

I would recommend purchasing some additional pipe lagging to cover some of the stand frame for extra protection. They also have a breathable cover which i was considering, but got my hands on some large pallet polythene covers.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

James

I see there is also a place in the states that specialize in bits for the SL, they have a stand for I think around 150 USD.

Have a look at the website on

www.thedriverscorner.com

I've not tried these people yet but I'm seen them on another US SL website and they seem to get good reviews.

Good Luck!

PS. If you have already rushed out and bought a stand let me know the details and what you think. :D
