My SL starts to let in water when its wet, and I dont quite know what to check.
It makes the footwell in the rear passenger side sodden with water, right down to the underfelt and floor pan.
Ive looked at the area down near the soft top mechanism where the black metal flap closes automatically when the hood is down, and is up when the hood is fully up. I think Ive cleared any build up that was down there, but where next?
There doesn't seem to be any wetness around the door area or to the side of the front seat, just specifically the carpet behind the front passenger seat.
Also if the hood is up when its raining, why have a drainage hole there in the first place! (presuming it is a drainage hole)
If there are other options can anyone let me know please, or have I got something more serious, like a hole underneath (had a quick look, and couldn't see anything)
Thanks.

I had similar problem on the drivers side. My problem was simply caused by the plastic clip that holds the carpet on the bulkhead behind the seat being broken. You can see this if you stop the hood mechanism to allow access to this area. This allowed water to run in behind the bulkhead carpet without actually wetting it and drained down to the floor carpet.I simply replaced the clip and added some silicone sealer and have had no problems since. Hope yours is as simple.
