SL 400 indicator Fault

Hi all, new to the forum, but an avid Mercedes fan. Recently bought a 2015 SL400. Only 25,000 miles, with full MB service history, recent health check too at MB dealer.

Intermittently, a message appears on the dash, rear right indicator fault. When you select to turn right, inside the car, it clicks and flashes fast, like when a bulb had blown in a pre LED light car, however on the outside, the indicator works perfectly.

Any experience of the same, ideas and thoughts how to rectify.

As always the best route to take with something like this is to find a good Indy and have them scan your car or if you find a suitable one to buy this will save you a fortune, mind you not many of the 2015 SL's have issues.
Hopefully it is only a loose connection at a plug to the rear lamp cluster?

I have the exact same problem on my 2013 SL 350 I've posted on here and another well known MB forum but to date have not had a definitive answer.
I need to remove the panels in the boot to have a look at the connector as Uncle Benz has mentioned.
The problem is that it is in my case it's intermittent and you tend to forget about it until next time it does it. The last MOT the tester told me there was a problem, but as everything was working it didn't constitute a failure.

Was the car purchased from MB themselves as approved. If Y - drop it into them.
If not then a decent indy to keep the costs down.
Could well be a loose connection or SAM failure.

See post #5 above, Uncle Benz knows what he is talking about, the connector at the rear of the lamp sounds like a good place to start.

Mine did it again the other week, last time it was about 4 months ago. I've still not got round to getting to the back of the offending lamp. When I do, and I will fiddle about with the connector if the fault is still there I'll probably ignore it and live with it. As I've previously said, it did it once on an MOT inspection but it passed The tester wasn't botherd as the indicator was working as it should and the display if thats the right word was working on the dash although not in unison.
I'm not the sort of person who likes to run a car with a fault,but how much would a new unit cost , and as I see it it's a miniscule problem.
