So after months of umming and ahhing on what car to next purchase after the trouble we had with the Panamera we finally made the choice of an Sl 400 so the good news is I've returned to mb. Initially we were looking for an e class coupe then an e63 all of which I asked you guys for opinions and advice which was much appreciated but we couldn't find the right one. Then after randomly searching through SL's this particular one caught my eye.it was a good price, great colour combo (cavansite with porcelain leather) and great spec. It's a 64 plate not the new facelift with the diamonte grill but practically a new car with 8k on the clock. Really impressed with the looks, toys and the drive. Such a exhilarating drive from that 3litre twin turbo and when you plant the right foot it doesn't hang around and doesn't sound too bad either. Only negative I guess so far is the very light steering even at high end speeds which doesn't give much feedback but I have found this in most new mercs I have driven and also keeping the porcelain leather mark/stain free.i will try and keep you updated if I don't spend all my time driving the car.
Yes these car have electric steering and on many test they have said it is too light. A nice car though.
