SL 500 alloys to fit w140 s320?

I am looking at a used set of mercedes alloys from a (new style) SL500

They are stamped as follows:

A230 401 09 02

03

GX

8 1/2J X 17 H2 ET35

The tyres are 255 / 45 / 17

Will these fit a 1993 S320 w140??

my standard wheels are 8 1/2 J et 43 on a 96 S class...

meaning a 43mm offset, 8 and a half inch wide rim.

so with these being a whole 8mm different offset, im sure they will be fine.

are all 4 the same?? i thought SL's ran fatter rears...



check in the back of your manual for the standard size wheels - its in there...

As Guy says,
The Et for W140 (S-Class) is much Bigger. I have them down as ET44 for cast AMG, and ET47mm for other wheels, all for 8.5J rims.

I understand the wheels are all the same size

So given the W140 ET, does this mean there would be 'room to spare' in terms of clearance from brake calipers etc??

Also would the cumulative wheel and tyre radius be within a tolerable margin from standard spec?

The radius is not your problem. It is the width (J) v. ET. Radius can be changed with tyres. The wheels you mention would rub against inside, on the front. 8.5J is the limit for the front of w140 without modification, so you will need the corect ET.
