SL 5OO wheel size change HELP please

I have 245 x 17's all round on my 2001 SL500. I wonder if someone could tell me if it would be straightforward to put on 18in AMG wheels with the larger 275's on the back, and 245's on the front

Yes the later and the last of the 129's had 18" wheels as standard

Thanks Malcolm. So would the 275 issue for the rears be the same. By that I mean, would they go straight onto my car. And is there any reason why they would be detrimental in any way!

The links do not seem to give the right sizes, indeed my car is shown as having 255 when in fact it has 285 x 35 x18.

Sadly Stats007 does not post here now, send him a PM as he has 18" on his car.

Re the ride, 18" give a more positive feel on cornering, but a firmer harder ride.

If you cant get an answer, I will get one for you re the max width

On Chris's list there are five R230 Rear wheels listed with 18 x 9.5 and 285x35 the fronts are listed as 18 x 8.5 with 255x40. One is MB, one AMG and three Brabus.

As for the R129 there appears to be options up to 285 for the rear.

This is weired , when I view the link in the page, no 285 shown, so I just did a copy from the 18" wheels shown and up come 285 tyres.

Just tried the link using windows, when viewed on the page, no 285 tyres for mine,when I copy they are shown, in fact the copy is very different fom what I view
Never known this before, I was going to post showing what I can see

This is the screen I get from the second link I posted above. I've had to slide across to the right a bit to see the rear wheel fitments so you cannot see that it is for the R230.
