Can anyone help!

I locked my SL (r129) last week, after returning to the car I was unable to open the centre console/armrest storeage. I know all storage compartments lock with the doors central locking and you can open the 'spectacal' compartment on the dash by turning the lock clockwise. But this doen't open the centre storage compartments. I know if you take the centre wood trim off you still need to open the compartment to get to the screws in order to get to the locking system. I urgently need to get a number of items from this compartment, any ideas.

The key for locking the front compartments also locks the armrest as well (the button cant be depressed when locked). the wooden cover only fitted to the 600 and Japan cars has no screws under it, it is only stuck on top of the original. The top lid is held on with screws on the inside. A pneumatic line locks it. I would try some presure on the lid or button while turning the key, the roller shuters also lock. If I can think of something I will post back ASAP.

Thanks, will have a go at that, I have put quite a bit of force on the button all ready but not while turn the lock. And yes the roller is also locked.

By locking the car up and opening from the boot severall times could work and try with the engine running, a vacuam pipe could have come off the pump in the boot.

No joy with that, do you know where the pump is located in the boot? I can see if the pipe has come of there.

The pump is not going to help as there are only two pipes coming from it, the vacuam junction box is under the box that cant be opened.

As I can see the way that it locks, before it is forced, a cranked piece of metal could open it without too much damege, ask for details. There is nothing on the USA sites or the MB program, and no other way.

Malcolm

Could you describe the way you think it could be opened and the tool I will need. I have spoken to a few people and they thought it could be an electrical problem, does the air close the locks and electric open? Anyway I would be grateful for any other help.
