A mate at work has just acquired a 'H' reg.SL300.apparently in very good condition.Light blue metallic, black leather, and a recent new hood. However,it has had what looks like a slight crunch to the nsf,a scrape on the rear wing and a damaged alloy(again ns).He strongly suspects that the car has 'lozenged'( I think this is the correct term)so,his dilemma is :try to get it back in line professionally,or when the weather gets better, strip it and sell the bits.Alternatively, his partner, who already has an SL280 was thinking of selling that, and the damaged one for spares.I will try to get her to join this forum. Any thoughts?

It wil cost £200 to set it up on a chassis rig to find out, though comparing the 2 sides from laying down and looking up should give some indication, maybe a 4 wheel alignment check would do

Breaking for spares would be the most profitable I would have thought. Repairing such a car will be expensive and could exceed the same example without and damage, its a tuff call.

fitting a new rear wing section is a massive job and not worth doing, it is all part of the B pillar, I have seen one where they gave up and just welded in part of it, as jib the parts will earn much more than the value of the car
