SL power roof problem HELP

I have a SL500 AMG 1993, yesterday I put the roof up to wash it and now it will not come down, I can hear the motors trying to work, but all it does is pull the back window panal down instead of pushing it up. any ideas???????????

I guess you've tried going the other way, IE try colsing it again to see if it unsticks. Sound's like something is jammed, tho'. There is also a manual way to open it with a small winding handle, but I wouldn't try to force it.

Have you checked the hydraulic oil ? It is located under the spare wheel in the boot.
