SL Roof release not working...help!

Hi the problem!

1988 420sl - When I try to take the hood down the catch that holds down the pin in the hard top or convertible hood at the back of the car were the hood stows away,wont release the pin. Have have got it released now but now dont want to lock it down again for fear it wont release again.

Any help or experience of similar problems would be appreciated also does anyone know of a merc independent aroun Leamington Spa that might be able to help.

This is only adjustment of the cables, and someone posted the fix a few weeks back

Hi Paul,

New to this forum as well but I've found the members to be superb and very helpful. I'm in Cov with a 1973 350SL so we could head scratch on problems etc. Incidentally, I don't know of any independent Merc places in the area, but I do know of two guys in Cov who have worked on my car and are great value for money and know what they are doing as well.
