SL280 Manual???

Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever come across an SL280 with a manual gearbox. I have seen a 1996 model here in Portugal, but my UK dealer said he did not think Mercedes made such a beast. Feedback would be appreciated.

In the 1994 price list the auto box was standard on the SL280 but an option on the 320 at £747 extra

Thanks Malcolm, does it therefore follow that this particular 1996 car may have had a manual gearbox fitted as an extra? I know the Portuguese do not like auto's but it seems a bit odd to pay extra for manual.
