Can you help?
The wiper arm parks mid-swipe or after only a half cycle.
The fault also seems more active when on the first setting (one timed sweep).
The fault is erratic and sometimes goes completely, to return with no apparent cause.

The actual motion of the arm seems to be solid and `clean'

Thanks,
Ray

I had a similar problem three weeks ago, my mechanic told me that it was three possibilities, 1. The combination stalk control. 2. Wiper motor itself. 3. The combination relay located at the rear of the fuse box with the rest of the relays. The most likely being the combination relay and in fact that was the case. Quite costly to replace I believe. I was lucky in that this was a thursday evening and I was catching an early ferry on the Friday so he took it apart and fixed it so that I wouldn't be stuck, the relay was sticking so I assume it was cleaned in some way. It has worked perfectly ever since but I suppose I will eventually have to purchase.

By the way I tried that Rain X stuff just in case, it was quite good but only at speed so might be a good idea to try some if your wipers are a bit iffy.

Many thanks,

I suspect too, that it's the relay. They are not cheap, this is true! (£129+ vat)
I hink that I will just replace it rather than mess around. Since the motion of the blade is still clean and not hesitant, I think that the motor is fine (crossed fingers!)

Did you say that it is easily accessible, behind the fuse box?

Thanks for your help so far.

I tried Rain X, and did not like the slight blur which occurred for about 1/2 a second after the wiper swept.
At low trafic speeds this is a pain you can't see clearly whilst the blurring is existant and I very nearly took out a pedestrian because I did not see him through the hazey blur as I turned left onto a major road with a zebra crossing immediately infront of me.
