sl300 dash lights

hi guys im a newbie to mercedes ownership. i bought a lovely sl 300 roadster:-D she's really sweet but today i noticed when i put the main beam lights on the dash digital display went dull and none of the night lights such as around the dash and the little lights around seat adjusters are not lit. any ideas????:confused:

Have you tried adjusting the reostat by turning the trip reset button on the cluster.

lol thats exactly what it is. i was playing with the rest for the speedo clock and i must have twisted it to really dull!!!!!:Oops::Oops:
