SL350 / R230 - Fuel Sloshing Noise

It might be that all the driving recently with the roof up I have become over aware of the noise BUT I dont remember it previously.

Does anyone else get a fuel sloshing noise from the fuel tank area when braking or accelerating at low speed.

Now I can hear it its slowly driving me crazy.

Common ?

Reason ?

A cure ?

Yes, sounds like your fuel tank baffles have come loose, this is very common in the R230.

The very first r230 didn't have baffles I believe. But through customer complaints the baffles were added to stop the sloshing noise. Then baffles came loose and banged around inside the tank, it helped if you had a full tank or 1/4 full to reduce the knocking noise.
The SL55 was invented to drown out both noise issues.......
