SL350 REAR BOOT GLASS LIFTER SWITCH

Just wondering if anyone knows from experience....................illuminated red switch on rear panel, to lift the glass/roof when its in the boot to use the boot space.
2011 SL wondering if there's a fuse or its a case of changing a failed selonoid? Nothing in the manual at all about it not working. Its clearly receiving power as the light is illuminated.
Any help would be gratefully recieved? Thanks Guys.

The boot lid needs to be lifted sufficiently to provide clearance. There is a switch that holds the operation off if the boot lid isn’t lifted enough. Often the gas struts are a little weak, and the lid sags lower than the switch. Try lifting the bootlid fully up before pressing the switch

Thanks I'll try that one........I'll be in the good books as my wife has never had an issue with it in the past, so it could be that of course.
