I have a 2004 Sl500 that when it sits for 4 or 5 days the suspension sags. When I start the car and reset the button it pops back up and stays at proper height. There are no leaks under the car so is the fluid just a little low and can it affect my brakes also?

Hi and welcome.

Sorry, did you say that there are or are not any leaks? If suspension fluid it should be a green colour.

Sagging after 4-5 days is normal and your manual will inform you of this. This is due to internal leakage within the system back to the header tank.

You can check the fluid level by finding the ABC reservoir- right side of the engine bay, black, usually has a turquoise label on it- and pulling out the dipstick. There are two marks on it, the upper is for engine off and the lower for engine on. Fluid level should be within the detention for each mark depending on engine on or off.

Smart + others :)
It shouldn’t sag, the valves should lock and the suspension stay at the same height. My SL55 has sat in the garage since they salted the roads and it’s still up.

My '55 doesn't sag, never has. It is not normal, as Ian says.

Might not be normal but it isn't uncommon..

Mine sags now because the seals are not good, but will raise again when started up, sometime it will stay up for weeks, sometimes it will drop within days. Starts with the N/S front first, followed by the N/S rear, then the O/S front, since the end of January it is now totally grounded  Looks cool though :D
