TITLE WORDED FOR EASE OF SEARCH USE

. . . . after a LOAD of fannying around ** - I took the advice of Mitesh (a COMAND specialist in Leicester) and bought a 6310i off eBay for our new car - installed it (plugged it in LOL) and hey presto - it works PERFECTLY!!!!!

I could not find a definative answer from anywhere/anyone as to exactly which phone would fit the FIXED cradle that is in the car (A 230 820 06 51) but 20 secs speaking to Mitesh - and he knew exactly what was needed!!!

Thanks buddy!

Secondly I also told him which COMAND system we had and (WITHOUT PAYMENT UP FRONT) he sent me the 2006/2007 CD ROM for the SatNav.

£117.50 incl VAT - paid to him immediately upon receipt via BACS!

I cannot rec this guy enough - Mitesh 07711 540045 - give him a call with anything technical and COMAND orientated - he is the man!

** the FA as it were = endless internet searches on the car model/year/cradle number etc - not one definative answer from internet/MB forum/dealer - so if you have an SL500 2003 with a fixed silver cradle and a black spiral cord - you can install a 6310i (probably the best phone Nokia ever made) its not sexy - but with a dual SIM (called Single Number from Orange) its a no brainer - the phonebook download works perfectly - the ONLY downside is that when switching the car on/off that action doesnt actually switch the car phone on/off - its on all the time - it only charges when the ignition is on however - which is good for the battery!

The command turns the phone off when it goes to sleep about ½ hour after stopping the car

Turns the phone off after 10 mins by default which can be programmed down to 1 min via the phonebook!
