SL500, R230 roof flaps only opening half way

Good day
I have a 2002, sl500, R230 convertible with the roof openning half way but when the roof flaps try to open, they are both only openning half way and then the roof operation stops.
Anyone who knows what it can be???
Please help

Sorry I can't help with your problem. When I experienced this I took the car to my local indy https://www.prestigecarservice.co.uk/ and they fixed it for me.

Probably a faulty sensor , you ideally need to get the car scanned for fault codes .
Where do you live so an MB specialist can be recommended to you (hopefully)

As above, sensor or plastic gear on the flaps? Research r230 roof flaps, sure u will find something on here.

It's likely the gear on the flaps. Very common failure on R230. it is a DIY fix. I did mine, so it can't be too hard.
