I had this task a good few weekends ago on an SL55 AMG. Most horrific paint I'd ever seen. Thought you guys may like to see it.

Some before and afters.

The last I saw of the owner was him walking round the car with his arms wide open, beaming at his SL whilst I was reversing out his driveway - hahahah.

Very nice indeed....rare colour combination also; blue is a great colour for a good shine:lol:

A fine job! Some real nasty swirling in that paintwork before you corrected it.

Are you happy tp share details of the machine and products that you use?

I use a Maguires DA machine, usually ending with a Dodo Juice product......always happy to learn mor on this subject though.

Cheers

It's a good reminder of why one should never take a car in a car wash. I assume that is how those swirls appeared ?

Hi all, sorry just seen the replies.

Yes, the condition of the paint was a combination of automatic car washes and these 'EU' car washes you see popping up everywhere. Every panel had the same damage. Some deeper scratches I couldn't remove, but overall it looked alot better! I'd say around 95% of the defects have now gone. Hopefully they won't return!

Products I tend to use are Scholl, Meguiars and Zaino.

Cheers!

By "EU" car washes do you mean the jet wash ones ? I thought they were OK to use ? :( At the moment I just wash mine with a sponge and a chamois leather.

Sorry I mean the EU immigrant ones that pop up all over. Using dirty cloths sponges, naff products.

They do more harm than good.
