It would appear that I have a leak on my rear nearside leg.

What would be my best move? And I'm tired of hopping!

I've been given a quote of £1700 from the dealer and that includes £1077 for the leg which seems a tad steep.

They are easy to change helen, the worst part is the stripping out of all of the boot trim, I can do this now on a 230 in 1 hour now.

I thought that the rear strut was cheaper than the front at £850 plus vat MB charged me £100 labour to change it and I put the trim back again

You only need to bleed that one leg jib, and you do that with all 4 wheels dangling. some rodeo the car for 10 mins to heat the fluid up before bleeding

It might be for you.

You can save Helen by taking out the boot sliding cover, the rear inside trim and the side where the leak is, I can send you the instructions

come on Malcolm get yourself over there and do the job for her. Surely you wouldn't turn down a job on Helens legs.

Sadly I charge more than MB for my services Dave:cool:

I'm much cheaper I only charge £45 p/h for my mechanical services & £65 for electrical.

I could never base my work on an hourly rate, and I charged what the job was worth, so my min charge was £45 for every thing that I did, but if they did not want it done , then no charge, I won be fixing 95% of the jobs in 10 mins max

once the fluid is replaced, does the car need reprogramming via a STAR in regards to its height?

No the height is automatic, there should be no air in the system or it can sink on one corner where the air is
