Hi All, I am having trouble with my near side Xeon Light, it seem to have an intermittent fault or it's way out, sometimes when I turn my headlights on I get a warning display informing me of this faulty light, then when I look at them it's always the same one not lit up, sometimes to get it to work I have to switch my lights on and then off several times then it eventually it come on.
Does it seem that it's the Xenon bulb for sure or maybe something else, if it is the Xenon bulb are they easy to replace and any ideas how much a replacement bulb costs?
Regards

You could try swapping the bulbs to see if it's that or the ballast.

Careful though very high voltages...

Bulbs are about £90 each

I should not be answering tonight I got the last one so wrong:(

Your lamps are in two parts plus some other things.
You have the control units, and the lamp, either could be intermittent.

Now these lamps are CAN controlled and any leaky SAM could stop them from coming on if it loses track or it memory, then the car may not know that it has one, when this happens that lamp will almost always come back on after a few min drive.

Plug the car into STAR and it will tell you

I had that problem on my SL320 and it was the control unit. It sometimes wouldn't come on until I tried the switch a few times and that seemed to bump start it. Then one day, nothing at all.

Sounds like the control unit under the headlights, strange that both are doing it, both may well be faulty.Dont see many faulty bulbs.

Hi Helen, I realised that if I leave the lights on for around 10 Min's, then switch them of and on again then it works, it may them work every day for around a week or so, then the next day (after a week) it may stop working.
Does this ring a bell with you. how much was your control unit?
