any help appreciated here,
sl60amg, hydraulic suspension,
bouncing all over road when driven, vehicle lowers and raises, level ok, no faults in system, all strut levels reading correct, pump seems fine, oil flowing well,

i know in the new suspension systems on newer cars this fault can be caused by dirty oil causing valves to stick open in valve blocks, so before we change the fluid just checking if anyone has experienced this fault, and can point me anywhere, its a rare car with rare suspension on the 129,

Having recently dealt with ADS on my R129, I concur with star, the most likely explanation is the spheres have failed.

Is there any suspension give at all, bounce test etc... ?

no its solid, knocks your teeth out whilst driving,
not fully conversant with this suspension system,
star is there a sphere on each strut? did you replace all 4 if so? thanks for pointers anyway,

Four spheres, two in the spare wheel well, and two behind covers in the front wheel arches.

Easy enough to change, just watch out for corroded pipes and rounding off the fittings. From what you describe some new spheres will solve the problem, everything else appears to be working.

I have a .pdf of factory information about ADS 1 on R129 chassis, it's in German, but you are welcome to it if you want it? PM me your email address if you would like it.

Cheers,

Richard

I agree with all the above. I am doing as set friday. Be very careful around the area of the front arches as the ADS electronics under there are sensitive to such things as hammer blows. I have a load of documentation (in german on these)

No kidding, the accelerometer on the front offside control arm and the front nearside inner wing is VERY sensitive, and even more EXPENSIVE :(
