SL600, "V12" trunk emblem question

I do not have the brochure for the 2001 SL600. I know that there are two "V12" emblems above the left/right engine vents.

Is there supposed to be a "V12" emblem in the back, i.e. on the passenger's side of the trunk?

no there isnt.

it will have sl600 on the left side of the boot. and the only think that would go on the right would be AMG were it to have been added to by AMG.

the designations on the front flanks normally show the engine type, either V12 V12BiTurbo, Kompressor, V8, V8Kompressor etc.

from looking it seems that this is unique to the sport models since at least 1996.

i always thought they said Mercedes on the back but when i got my first SLK the dealer said that went before then too.

someone broke my trunk emblem on my 2000 S500. I bought a new emblem to install. I can not figure out how to install it. Does anyone know the trick to install? thanks, Brian
