Hi All,
Im new to the forum so please forgive me if that question has been answered already or this is the wrong section to write in.
Although iv tried to search in the forums for an answer, i could not find one.
Recently, i replaced the battery to my E270 cdi (04 reg)- i bought a battery which a shop said would be fine- although it stated that the starting power was 800 amps and the original batter stated 780 or 740 amps.
When i started the car, it seemed ok, but i noticed that the dash lights were flickering a bit, and this malfunction popped out- battery protection unavailable.
So i thought it might be that because of the new battery, it just needed to be run in.
However, as i was approaching a junction, as i was braking the console lights began flickering and the all sorts of braking malfunctions started to come up....and finally, the car cuts off (its an auto so it couldnt have been poor clutch control).
Please could someone help me shed some light on the matter.
Many thanks and kind regards.

Why did you replace the battery and what did you prior to replacing it?
The AH rating shouldn't have any effect in theory. There is a power control module and these can be damaged with jump starts etc - does sound like thats a bit fried but you need a diagnostic to be sure.
