I have a 170 SLK200 2002 manual, when you switch off, remove key and lock up, normally the temp. and time. LCD's close down and disappear, mine for some reason, close down but the LCD's stay illuminated and do not extinguish, staying on, in effect making a constant battery drain. The LIM indicator gives a faint glow ignition on, when off it extinguishes. Has anyone a suggestion whats going on in relation to the LCD illumination staying on ?, and is the LIM glowing when driving, is that normal ?. I've just replaced the battery as it gave up the ghost, it was original and 5 years old, but thats made no difference, the above continues........
(When I replaced the battery, connecting the live first, the earth "sparked", I seem to remember from the dim distant past, that indicates a battery drain going on somewhere).........
