Can any techys out there advise - should the amg slk have a different software package on the command unit -- in the usa market it powers up with amg backgrounds over here it does not ??? is it a hidden option the dealer can activate ??

How do you get it show the number of gallons left in the tank on the main driver display as well as the standard range showing & also how to show the temperature reading on the driver display as well !!!! - or will MB dealership happily oblige for a fee if i take it the car in??

Appreciate any knowledge from the knowledgeable!!

dunno about the AMG bit on the COMAND but you cant have the temp displayed. it is locked off to keep the KPH displayed. this is a legal requirement in the UK. So even if it were possible to reprogram the dash to have it displayed no Mercedes dealer will touch it. basically in case you crash, you cannot blame them. they will be liable.

not sure about the gallons showing. bear in mind in the US. they have smaller gallons than we do so the unit may be prigrammed with Ltrs and US gallons, then disabled for the UK market. We buy our petrol in litres so they probably didnt bother adding it in! (ltrs per mile to MPG is just a mathematical conversion whereas the tank capacity is an actual measurement. the car doesnt actually know how much you have in your tank. it guesstimates based on your consumption and the fuel meter reading) could be worth email AMG direct to see if they can offer some help. www.mercedes-amg.com

Have you checked out any US forums? www.mercedesshop.com mite have some knowlegde!
