All,

Despite the Stealers best efforts in winding me and the Wife up we confirmed the spec for her SLK 200 today :

SLK 200 (Manual)
Iridium Silver
Black Leather
Luxury Climate
Airscarf
Heated Seats
R35 10 Spoke Alloys
Remote Roof Operation
Auto Wipers
Pre-wire and cradle
Cupholders
Folding Mirrors

They have advised that the car will be built in August Decade 3 and will be ready for collection from Bremen at the end of September, the current plan is to travel back via Amsterdam and Bruges before finding some sun in Manchester.

Many thanks to allow for previous postings on options and how to compain - it is always great to hear honest opinions from current owners rather than sales patter or various car mag jurno's views.

Nice. :) The Remote Roof Control is a total waste of time though.

I would also strongly recommend you purchase a perspex wind deflector which is far superior to the tatty piece of fabric supplied as standard. Costs over £200 from the Merc garage but can be left on all year round and looks cool! Got mine off eBay for less than £100.

Listen to the wife over the remote....i have had the car since Oct. yesterday I found out why the remote option works....the car was far to hot to sit in so as I stood in the car park lowering the roof all the heat went out without me boiling over....plus it got some stunned bypassers chatting to me and saying what an excellent idea. notibly BMW 3 cab drivers...2 actually. both middleaged slightly balding men...i did laugh. not that i am slightly balding middle aged man or anything.

And they'd know, would they?
Afterall, look at their taste in cars.
Am I right in saying you have to stand close to the car, and continue to hold the button down throughout the operation.
BTW, why would you have the roof up at all in this weather.

I also notice that the Auto option was omitted:evil:

yes you are right however it is better than sitting in the car i have found out. when its hot that is. and i am waiting for a device to save me even having to do that.

i always close the roof a, for security and peace of mind, and b, freak thunder storm showers like we had yesterday around 6ish. when one is splahing up and down in a pool for exersise, one doesnt want to bail out the car afterwards. i did laugh at the Ferrari spyder thingy that was a bit damp. he should have put his cloth cap on his car. nugget

are you my husband???

LOL - guess not.....saying that, my hubby has offered to get me new wheels for my trusty old SLK, not quite a new SLK but on the right road.

I'm very, very jealous of your wife's new SLK. It sounds fan-fecking-tastic.

Enjoy the new car when it arrives in September (and all the brownie points you get with it!!!).

I'm Mrs Bluekat and it was me on the other thread too....Mr Bluekat wouldn't post on here as he's not a MB owner. Although to be fair he is an MB borrower today (and today only) because an ambulance was blocking in his car this morning when he left for work.
(sorry for hijack jdl)

I hoped I'd get some brownie points when I bought my wife the ML for her birthday, but didn't ...so don't count on them!!

I picked up my SLK350 from MB Manchester on 29th April.Similar spec. The tatty piece of old tights they give you as a wind deflector is a joke and difficult to fit though it is effective.Going to order the perspex one though as the tatty tights are dangerous as they obscure vision. If my car stands in the sun for a while the roof won't come off and the aircon won't work.Manchester MB couldn't find a problem even though it's happened 4-5 times. The roof will only work off the remote when this happens.Hope you get your car on time and enjoy it.
