Slk 250 indicator intermittent problem

Randomly without warning all functions on the indicator stalk fail. No high beam, no flash, no indicators, no washer and no wipers function. The problem re sets when I stop the car take key out and start it again. This happens each day it is driven. No warning lamps.

This problem was discussed by Johnstonlee in Nov 2016. Has anyone got any idea what the problem may be?

First problem I've ever heard about on a 172.
Maybe damp in the indicator stalk?

I thought it was moisture on some component.

As above. or it's used a lot and contacts now suspect. Stalk prob now a China job?
