ur not impatient ru?? check fuse, resister pack and motor, more like motor. check polen filter 2, tho this wud not stop it working.

Maybe he is a BMW driver trying to stir things .. is it ur actual heater or just the fan motor than aint working

So, what has stopped working?
Does the fan go round, is it just cold, is your aircon not working?
Lots of aspects to the heater system so we need a bit more to go on that 'it broke'.

And it's best not to start with us by having a go at the regulars, especially when that regular is a professional MB specialist. Be nice - we are :)

sorry everyone for not enrolling correctly,not the best with pc had someone else to try and set it up for me.the slk is a320 my2001,the ec light is not lite at all,the fan does nothing,ihave checked fuses to the right of steering wheel and in engine bay,all ok,does anyone know where resistor pack is,or have any ideas? regards daz

Hopefully Malcolm (Television) will post a link to a diagram - hes great like that.
Read other posts on the regulator in the mean time so you know what to look for, but if the EC light won't come on, it sounds like the power to the whole heater system is off for some reason.
Assuming most MBs are the same, you could try looking at the heater box above the passengers footwell. If it is there, there should be a rectangular 3 pin plug which will be the reg feed and the first thing to check.
