Hi,
Any bright sparks out there? problem with my alarm and interior light on the SLK. Alarm went off for no reason one day whilst armed, since alarm only works on glove box, and bonnet, no door or boot. The interior and boot light stopped working at the same time. Niether work when the doors or boot are opened, but light on the manual dome switch. When in normal mode and car is started the light comes on but will not go off (unless manual switch is switched off) however if the car ignition is switched off the light dims and goes out after about 5 mins.
I have checked all the door and boot switches all ok the switches are wired to the PSE control module in the boot and this unit is recieving the negative it requires. 2 wires go out of the PSU to the CCM the white has 12.5v and the green 7.5v I suspect this may be a problem I connected a negative to the green but it made no differance. Dealers want to replace all parts untill they find the problem, sounds a bit expensive to me, worst case is 2 new units. Could it be somethig simple?, taking it in for a service to a specialist in August and put it on a diagnositic, I believe the same CCM is fitted to E class any one had anything similar or any thouhts Thanks

Dont know what info I can find, can you put up the next 3 figures after the170 on your VIN. On the 170435 there is an over sensitive sensor problem, the sensor is in the interior light is too sensitive and it triggers code B1707. When you put up numbers I will serch a little more.

Hi
Thanks for reply, the next numbers are 444 I have purchased a new interior light unit but still no joy, I have a circuit diagram of the interior lights and the problem appears to be the light unit is not getting a negative from the CCM when the doors are opened (which may be because its not getting the negative from the boot unit). I have had this problem for quite a few months and have learned to live with no interior light, I only discovered by chance the other day that I had no alarm on the doors which is a concern, thanks again for you interest.
