Help...just bought a very nice 39000m v reg slk this weekend, but the red light on the towing/alarm switch is on all the time. Also I may have made the problem worse by holding the key fob down for a long time time expecting it to close the windows before locking the car. (mistake!) Now the alarm does not sound when the car is locked, but the flashers do not stop, even after 20mins or so......any ideas?

Hello and welcome,, this could be the combined PSE pump gone down,, I think that a fault code read out by an indie would be the best thing to do.
Do you have one near where you live

Hello Tom,, you have answered the problem, water has got into the pump and the PCB will need to be dried out and the little mod done.

The chances are that the car was garaged all of its previous life

I will find you some information on fixing this, so you do not need to have the codes read out

Thanks Malcolm, I've dried and cleaned the pcb in the pump succesfully. All faults gone. Now that I know it works, will lacquer the board, and I presume the mod involves turning the pump upside down? Wife is very happy that she can now use her new toy........
Regards Tom

Hello Tom and nice to read the good news,, you can get a little wiring mod so that you can turn the pump over. You can get more info from a guy call Bazzle on benzworld he has done extensive write ups on this, you do not have to join, but well worth reading
