Can anyone tell me how to release the bonnet of an SLK when the bonnet catch is stuck. The handle and cable work OK but the bonnet release mechanism appears to be jammed. I have tried pushing and pulling the bonnet up/down while someone else pulls on the release handle and have squirted copious amounts of release oil into it - all to no avail.
