SLK boot question

Hi peeps,

I have a 2005 SLK and wonder about the boot catch. When I use the boot release on the key fob it pops the boot open but it doesn't rise, staying about half an inch from the bumper. Now on my old C class the boot used to open right up. Is this a 'feature' due to the weight of the boot lid (or the folding roof mechanism) or is there something wrong here?

Thanks for your advice.
Kev.

Thanks for that. Didn't want to complain and then look foolish.

Its due to the mechanism for the folding roof. It just pops open, rather springing right up.
