slk comand removal

I am trying to fit an ipod intergration kit in a 06 slk 55 amg. I have very detailed instructions, except how to remove the comand unit to allow access to a single plug on the back. I have managed to remove the cup holder and got access to the two top retaining screw, and have found a single screw at the bottom behind the ashtray but so far have not managed to remove the ashtray. I obviously don't want to force anything.Can any one help? Many thanks, Andy.

Thank very much. Not too sure which the vin number is as this is a german car, left hand drive, just re registered on a french plate. I live in France.It is either 171W47, or WDB171. Apologies for being thick.

Help to remove comand

Tyring to install ipod. Have managed to remove cup holder but now stuck. Does anyone know how to remove the ashtray/cigarette lighter and trim to get access to the remaining torx heads? The car is a SLK, AMG 06 model. comand with the auto a/c unit underneath. Many thanks for any help from a new mercedes owner.

slk command removal

Both above and below the command are facia pannels, these are a press fit and can simply be prized out. behind these panells you can locate the four screws that hold the command. The ash tray has a small black catch which you side to one side and lift the ashtray out. Under the ash tray is one screw which you must remove.Sorry for the late reply, but your in France and Im in China, as I type this you are probably sleeping.
