I have a 99 SLK 230 and I want to stop the squeaking from the top and deck area. I have used silicon spray and WD40 on the tracks, intersections, and rubber. Any suggestions on what MB service would do with this problem. More owners than I must have this problem.
I was thinking of trying thin soft foam to keep the metal parts from each other.
Thanks, for any help.
Terry.

petroleum based jelly lubricant will do the trick on the rubber bits.

no. it was a 5 door one in black with tinted windows. looked a bit like a hearse for one of them delaers of strange substances. i had lots of police friends helping me prove it was mine and that i hadnt stolen my own car. was reassuring to know they would have stopped the urchin that could have stole it had i not got old and slow and got rid of it.

Have you tried waving a bit of cheese around the top of the frame in case its a trapped mouse?

My SL also squeaks a little and seems to be weather dependant so i'll be trying the petroleum jelly as well.
