Hi
I'm hoping that someone from this forum mights be able to help me out; I'm a researcher on the ITV4 series 'Used Car Roadshow' and I'm trying to find an SLK (soft top) from between 2000-2004 to feature on this Sunday's show (3rd June). The programme is made in Leeds so the car would need to be brought to our studio there, it would simply be used as an example of the model, while our prsenter Jason Dawe talks about what he loves about it.
If you think that you might be able to help me out or know of someone who could, then please contact me and I'll be able to give you some more info.
thanks for any help you can offer.
Kind regards
Alida James

You will be hard pressed to find an SLK soft top, I have 2 an R170 and R171 and they are both hard tops, do you mean CLK.

That's not strictly true is it. It is also an open sports car.

Why dont you tell him that as he's doing his research.

A little harsh isn't it!!!

Ive spoken to Alida and offered my SLK for the shoot, I also suggested that if someone is closer to Leeds than myself that could do it then let them, 6 hours for me there and back.

With all the money the TV companies have, why can't they go and borrow/hire one from a dealer. Hope you charge them.

And I love the sales pitch that it is just to say what they like about the car. That will be a first.

Yes just supporting what Jib said if anyone nearer to Leeds would be able to help I'd really appreciate a call. Apologies for my wording in the original post!
I'll also just point out that we're an independent TV company so we work with small budgets and are therefore unable to hire cars to feature on the programme. I try and source my cars from owners clubs and forums as they tend to be well looked after examples and they're usually keen to get their car on TV.
Thanks again for any help you can offer me.

!

This is not the first time I have seen someone talking (writing) about an SLK when they mean CLK, and there was no mention of an open top sports car, oh and thanks for your childish comment, your teacher would not be proud of you.

Jason isn't going to write on the windscreen with that big white pen is he !!! I might get upset if he does cos it might make it difficult driving home.

Whos that tasty chick on the show???
