I'm a keen road cycle tourer / outdoors type wondering what other SLK owners do if they want to tour with a bicycle or external luggage. I'd love an SLK, but may end up having to go for a 4 seater convertible if the problem of luggage carrying can only be solved by loading up the back seats.

:?: My particular questions are:

1) Has anyone used the optional roof rails with bicycle attachement for transporting their bicycle? What has been your experience?
2) I imagine the roof rails would prevent the roof going down.. how easy / quick is it to fit the rails and take them off again? Is it the kind of thing that can be done routinely, or best left alone?
3) I have a bike box dimensions 120x90x28cm. I imagine this is too big to fit in the boot whether with roof up or down? Have other cyclists been able to fit a dismantled road bike in the boot? eg. with wheels off resting on frame.

Hope someone can help.
