SLK R171 passenger lock & window fault

Hi
The passenger window and door lock has stopped working on my daughters R171 SLK200, no matter which button is pressed neither work and it seems to stop the roof from operating.

Does anyone have an idea what may cause this, seems odd it is all left side and both door lock and window..?

Probably worth checking the wires going into the door- that they’re not broken

Roof won't open because the window is not dropping. Have a look at above, wires into the door.

Not tried that but my daughter booked it in with a mechanic on Monday to check the module..

Update, mechanic removed the contol module, it was wet so replacement required.

The only problem is a replacement unit may need to be programmed to the car using Star which our friendly mechanic does not have:-( looking like it will be expensive for her if she has to go to main dealer for fit & replace...

They generally only need coding for right hand drive. They come coded for left hand drive. The only thing that won't work is the pass window switch on the driver's door. The window will raise and lower from the pass door switch, just not from the driver's door. If you can live with it, get it done later at an independent

She saved her pennies and ordered the part from Stratstone Newcastle (bank of Dad closed during Covid).

Just waiting for delivery and fitting now...

Module fitted (£72 labour to swap) and as predicted by Uncle Benz all works other than remote control of passenger window.

Now waiting for Engineer with Star tool to re-program told will be back in 2 weeks.

Good call, she smacked a hole in the morror housing which she covered in tape...
